PURPOSE | |
Responsible for the profitable procurement of product lines assigned. Buy in accordance with policies and guidelines set forth by the Company and the Distribution Center. | |
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: | |
Accountable and Reports to: Meat/Deli Procurement Manager | |
PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS: | |
· Responsible for managing Distribution Center inventory across a number of specific categories. o Optimize store service levels at 96% or above (98% on sale items) o Maintain ongoing communication link with Meat/Deli Sales Manager to insure proper understanding of promotional activity and adequate level of logistical support. o Manage inventory levels and product rotation o Negotiate logistical elements that improve cost and efficiency (work with vendors and transportation) o Remote access (buying system) from home or off site location when necessary · Responsible for working with Logistics Coordinator to help manage the timely and efficient flow of goods throughout the supply chain. · Use various tools and sources to forecast and communicate weekly product needs for the Division. · Develop and maintain good working relationships with brokers, vendors, store operations, distribution center and division office personnel | |
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: (These are considered occasional in nature) | |
· E-Pass (billing and invoice discrepancies) · Periodic product quality checks/walks in the distribution center · Performs other duties as assigned | |
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM JOB: (Physical demands outlined on attached PAR sheet) | |
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other Office programs
