Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting and Finance team in Westmont IL. This position will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager. The positions entails the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assist with the analysis on financial statements, assist in budgeting and forecasting, assist in the month-end close process, and maintain compliance with internal controls.
RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Assist in the responsibility for month-end and year-end close activities from balance sheet and cash account reconciliations to financial statement preparation.
§ Prepare monthly financial package and submit timely to the Finance Director or Accounting Manager for review and approval in order to finalize reporting within deadlines.
§ Assist Facility/Project Managers to process monthly financial duties (i.e. - invoice coding and variance analysis).
§ Assist in the production and analyze variance reports and performance metrics for business operations management teams.
§ Maintain working knowledge of, and ensure compliance with, Master Services Agreement and any relevant amendments or appendices.
§ Insure that all bank statements are reconciled on a timely basis and follow-up on old outstanding checks and reconciling items monthly. Reconcile components of ending cash balances monthly.
§ Perform or review reconciliation and true-up of funding vs. actual expenditures.
§ Perform and/or review all balance sheet account reconciliations and workpapers for audits.
§ Prepare and review properly documented journal entries.
§ Prepare and track accruals and accrual entries.
§ Assist with Budgets and Forecasts as needed, working with operations personnel.
§ Assist with the calculation of fees (i.e. Management and Incentive) as needed.
§ Identify and implement process re-engineering opportunities.
§ Prepare interfaces to client’s systems (where required) and proper reconciliations.
§ Ensure compliance with both Jones Lang LaSalle Internal Audit and Client Accounting Services SSAE16 internal review standards.
§ Record cash receipts, receivables and other journal entries as appropriate.
§ Special projects and other functions as required by manager or client.
QUALIFICATIONS
§ 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
§ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance; CPA is a plus.
§ Strong accounting skills and attention to detail required.
§ Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus.
§ Proficiency in computer-based accounting applications required. Experience with JDEdwards World or JDEdwards EnterpriseOne platforms is a plus.
§ Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills required.
§ Strong communication skills (oral and written) required.
