The position of Mill Operator is required to operate and maintain the horizontal processing mills used in the manufacturing of architectural and industrial colorants. The Mill Operator position exists to ensure products are processed to meet customer specifications, in doing so, equipment has to be cleaned, maintained and monitored by the operator.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Follow all SOP's related to mill cleaning, mill media displacement check, in-between mill media inspections, mill start-up, mill chase and batch sampling to Quality Control, as evidenced by approved batches
- Completion of all documentation related to the role: Update batch ticket with milling information, Mill Monitoring Log, Mill Displacement Log, Media In-Between Check Log, Mill Maintenance Log,Batch Tracking Log, etc.
- Open/Close of batch process start/completion in Batch Tracking
- Follow all start up and operating procedures of the various mills used in the assigned plant
- Follow all instructions/directions as indicated on batch tickets
-. Identify and question inconsistencies in batch cards
- Follow all SOP's related to tank and valve cleaning. Completion of all documentation related to tank inspections
- Maintain all equipment and tools related to the mill operations process
- Maintain work area to meet or exceed expectations
Basic Qualifications:
Must be able to read, write, comprehend and communicate in English
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment visa status
Must have a high school diploma, GED certificate, or equivalent
Must be able to work overtime with or without reasonable accommodation
