Position Summary:

Objective of Role
We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to join our Americas Regional Finance and Accounting team at our Global headquarters in downtown Chicago, IL.  This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in a career in finance within an organization that will provide opportunities for growth. The successful candidate will play a significant role in the Company’s M&A activity and in resolving technical accounting issues.
 
The Americas Regional Finance Team provides accounting guidance and stewardship to the $2.8 billion revenue Americas Region, partnering with divisional finance teams to understand and advise the organization. We are a cross-functional and a truly collaborative environment, while also empowering every team member to make decisions that drive results.
 
The Finance Manager will,

  • Manage and participate in due diligence engagements related to acquisitions. Analyze financial/operational results of targets through reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management.
  • Identify issues for purchase price negotiation/deal structuring. Identify post-acquisition action steps to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvements
  • Actively contribute to the generation of due diligence summary reports and review of valuation models
  • Develop, train and mentor team members at the Staff and Senior levels
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource for the Americas region by:
    • Staying current with new and pending pronouncements;
    • Incorporating rule changes into the Company’s existing accounting policies;
    • Researching complex transactions and assisting in conversations regarding those transactions with the Company’s external auditors;
    • Documenting and presenting the results of your research
  • Analyze the Region’s financial results
    • Maintain and improve financial analysis tools and models to proactively identify variances requiring further research during the month-end close
    • Summarize and report key findings
  • Help manage the external auditors requests and relationship throughout the year
  • Lead other special projects as requested by senior leadership
 
Skills & Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or business and at least 7-10 years of overall work experience
  • Experience in a Transaction Advisory practice of a Big 4 or Regional Accounting Firm, investment bank, or other related experience in a corporate finance role for an organization
  • Experience in reviewing and building Financial Models in Excel
  • Achievement of or significant progress toward CPA or related certification
  • Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and teaming skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary
