The Managing Director, Consulting is accountable for developing and driving the overall vision and multi-year strategy for the Consulting practice within Integrated Portfolio Services (IPS).
S/he must operate with influence to execute the agenda of our IPS business and promote a differentiated platform of consulting services against growth plans. They will pull together the best resources to win pursuits and ensure client satisfaction, partnering closely with the leadership teams across Markets and Corporate Solutions in helping our clients deliver successful outcomes. This position will oversee all aspects of strategy execution, business development, talent management, operations, and client advisory support.

This position is a direct report to the Americas IPS Leader. Ideal location for this position is Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
Immediate Areas of Focus
Develop annual strategic direction to grow the Consulting business within IPS
Define compelling value proposition for clients, including go-to market approach
Develop, evolve and innovate products to advance capabilities and grow practice credibility and differentiation – specifically around Strategic Portfolio Management, Lease accounting changes, Human experience/TARPE Future of Work, Workplace, Utilization, etc.
Participate in thought provoking, strategic discussions with firm leadership and clients; share analytical, quantitative, and conceptual insights; evangelize the consulting practice in the market promoting differentiation
Lead from the front by opening doors with prospective clients and strengthening rapport with existing clients- provide advisory solutions that ‘wow’ clients and maximize sales opportunities
Work with practice leads to enhance delivery and alignment across practice areas. Partner with practice leads to create standardized, commercially viable tools, templates and processes
Drive revenue and margin growth through new and existing channels for all practices; focus on process-driven annuity engagements
Evaluate alternative pricing strategies and consulting models
Drive robust talent management strategy, “right people in the right roles” with an eye to recruitment, retention, recognition and career development. Fuel a pipeline of top talent
Steer global practice initiatives/work streams and nourish strong connections and inclusivity with peer groups across the global enterprise to advance IPS initiatives
Active contributor and champion for all IPS and Corporate Solutions program initiatives and integrated service delivery opportunities; identify cross selling opportunities with other functions throughout CS and Markets
Analyze trends and market disruptors -feed insights into leadership for product / platform advancements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Years of Relevant Experience
Recognized as thought leader and industry expert in real estate consulting with 10+ years of progressive experience leading high performing teams
Demonstrated expertise organizing, operating and executing against a business strategy
Prior experience running a P&L, with emphasis on sales and driving growth
Track record of formulating and meeting financial targets and creating new levers for revenue delivery
Passion for leading teams and managing and developing people
Experience successfully managing leaders who are highly autonomous and require the right motivators to excel
Expert in influencing colleagues with command but not control
Six Sigma certification preferred
