Position Summary:
SUMMARY
The Vice President, Production Support must have in depth knowledge of both the Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac Program Plus programs and must have ability to structure proposed multifamily loans, including both conventional and affordable transactions. The Vice President, Production Support will manage and mentor the screening team, in addition to managing the pipeline of new business.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work closely with JLL’s underwriting team to ensure that proposed loans are structured in accordance with investor and JLL credit tolerances
- Analyze practical problems and resolve complex transactions when confronted with minimum detailed, concrete or standardized information
- Analyze historic trends including operating cash flows, capital expenditures, general property management, and overall property condition of the most complex nature
- Interface with borrower, originator, and other team members throughout the front end process to ensure that timelines are met and that both internal and external customers are satisfied
- Interface with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac contacts to help structure transactions as well as comply with all investor guidelines
- Supervise the completion of the pre-app narrative and financial analysis, identify strengths and weaknesses with appropriate mitigants and present to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as necessary
- Assign transactions to the screening team and monitor their work to ensure timely completion of transactions
- Understand agency Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines and offer direction to the team for deal structuring
- Compile independent data and form conclusions on market conditions, management, property condition, and sponsor
- Perform financial analysis including trend and cap rate analysis, capital expenditure requirements and proforma NOI and DSC calculations
- Analyze and evaluate complex ownership borrower structures relative to legal and financial responsibilities and obligations
- Prepare waiver/exception justifications
- Additional duties as deemed necessary by management
SUPERVISORY
- Develops and maintains an effective staff through the selection, training, motivation, termination and review of staff
- Delegates administrative duties to staff as well as supervises and provides instruction as needed
- Manages employee work and vacation schedules to ensure staffing needs are met
- Provides guidance and direction to staff to assist in their professional development
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Previous Fannie Mae and/or Freddie Mac experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
- Strong math, verbal, writing, and organizational skills
- Strong time management skills and ability to operate under demanding deadlines
- Ability to multitask and work on several transactions simultaneously
- Ability to recognize and mitigate risk
- Excellent attention to detail

- Ability to travel as needed
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to physically inspect multiple residences and common areas within an apartment complex, as well as inspect comparable properties within the market.
- Employee must be able to physically move about the apartment complex, which shall require standing and walking for extended periods of time, and climbing stairs.
- Inspections may also require the ability to sit, reach, and bend.
- Travel shall include various modes of travels (including but not limited to planes, trains and automobiles) to different time zones and may require overnight lodging.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree in a business related field (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Business)
- 15+ years’ experience in multifamily and/or commercial real estate finance or underwriting.
