Job Overview:
The Private Brand District Manager is responsible for driving sales and profit through communication and partnership with District Teams, as well as the training and development of Store teams on elevated Merchandising standards, product knowledge and key private brand initiatives. The PBDM must take strategic approach with proper planning to maximizing store visits and travel.
Essential Functions:
Sales
• Elevate merchandise and visual presentation standards for Private Brands through planned strategic training and store visits.
• Ensure execution of all Private Brand directives.
• Coach and develop MTMs and PBSS teams on Private Brand merchandise initiatives through formal and informal training and “hands-on” demonstration.
• Develop and implement business-driving strategies in partnership with District Merchant and Store teams reflective of the centrally defined priorities.
• Influence space and location decisions.
• Provide insight and exercise influence, including challenges, successes and opportunities on 5 P’s to Region, District and Store partners.
• Take strategic approach to planning store visits, training initiatives and objectives. Utilize data to define priorities and quantify efforts.
• Weekly Schedule: Monday office day, Tuesday – Friday store visits to Private Brand focus doors / top doors as defined for each district.
People and Selling
• Partner with stores to recruit, select and train top-level talent for PBSS and Selling Specialist positions.
• “Coach the Coach” approach to development of PBSS and Specialists by providing insight and feedback to MTMs and Sales Managers for use in their training and development of their teams.
• Conduct formal and informal training on merchandise presentation, shopping environment, promotional activity,product knowledge and selling techniques during store visits and on planned seasonal training workshops.
• Role Model Magic selling behavior.
• Recognize and celebrate successes of Store performance related to Private Brand sales, accomplishments and total scorecard.
• Interact, leverage WGR and My Stylist as additional work group to train and influence on Private Brands.
Communication and Business Partnerships
• Participate in the Private Brand communication cascade calls and attend national webinars and cascades as directed.
• Collaborate with Supervisor, District Teams and Stores teams to align efforts and goals, as well as share information regarding new product/brand initiatives, store needs, opportunities and recognition.
• Establish consistent communication and training standards with District and Store partners to include DMs, VPSMs, MTMs, Sales Managers and Visual staff.
• Provide feedback on sales-driving opportunities and business challenges with key Private Brand stakeholders and Region/District partners.
• Ensure compliance for special projects, feedback and projects as directed from Central team.
• Build strong business partnerships with District and Store teams by attending and participating in key meetings such as visits and deep dives.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
• A minimum of 3-5 years of operations/merchandising retail management
Communication Skills:
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Ability:
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physical Demands:
• This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching. Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
