Position Summary:
Summary: As the Apprentice Engineer you will assist with engineering
operations. The position will have a strong focus on building mechanicals,
troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment, and learning the core
functions of an operating engineer. Functions: *Ensure that work performed in
client space is accomplished with a minimum of disruption and is followed by
adequate cleanup * Under supervision, perform maintenance, monitoring
repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire, Life Safety, and Control
systems for the facility to keep facility and building systems up to applicable
standards as assigned *Demonstrate the ability to learn and understand
compressed air systems and their supporting components. * BMS systems,
including but not limited to diagnostics and repairs. * Maintains responsibility
for facility services, preventative maintenance, general maintenance and
technical proficiency. * Ensure the availability of an adequate operating
inventory of tools and supplies and develop sources for stock materials related
to maintaining the facility. * Record readings and make adjustments where
necessary to ensure proper operation of equipment * Under supervision,
maintenance of the equipment will include cleaning, inspecting, calibrating and
changing parts to maintain the HVAC systems and associated equipment at
optimum performance levels * Comply with departmental policy for the safe
storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe
workplace * * Verify the accuracy of deliveries for count, pricing, and
description * Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory *
Perform additional job duties as requested Required Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities (KSA) * Working knowledge of computer applications including Word
and Excel * The individual in this role must be available for Call-in work and
perform other duties as required. *Skilled in use of tools and machinery
common to trade and craft. Supervisory Responsibilities: * The incumbent will
not have any supervisory responsibility.
Job Duties:
Working Environment: * The environment in which the job is performed, number of
individuals in the work group, team composite and dynamics, and the amount of
interpersonal interaction required in order to perform the job. *Capable of lifting at
least 50lbs and using ladders up to 12’ Minimum Required Education: *Education-
High School diploma or state equivalent required. One year previous experience
*Experience- Minimum one year experience in electrical trade or related field or:
Minimum one year experience in HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field or Minimum
one year experience in emergency backup systems (Generators, UPS, etc.)
