Overview:
Macy's Logistics and Operations a division of Macy's Department Stores, including Macy's and Bloomingdale's is currently seeking talented individuals for Manager, Maintenance for the Minooka, IL facility.
Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain building and equipment in optimal, safe running condition at the lowest possible cost.
- Develop cost effective maintenance, energy consumption, and operational improvements of facility and equipment.
- Develop preventative maintenance programs.
- Purchase equipment, parts and contracted services.
- Partner with outside regulatory agencies and consultants as needed.
- Provide estimates of cost for major repairs and capital improvements.
- Prepare scope documents and solicit proposals for repair and construction services from third party service providers.
- Budget Planning and management.
- Develop innovative cost effective ideas for improvement to existing material handling systems and create optimal product flow.
- Supervise engineering staff
- Any other responsibilities management deems essential.
Qualifications:
Education Experience:
- Minimum of 3-10 years facilities maintenance management experience in a distribution center.
- Must have experience with Conveyors, MHE, PLC's, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire/Security
Communication Skills:
- Ability to perform physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and walking (up to 80% of day).
- Must have effective communication skills both verbal and written.
Reasoning Ability:
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to make sound decisions and manage several processes in a fast paced environment.
- Excellent Leadership and negotiating experience. Responsible for leading and providing direction to a team of hourly associates.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physical activity including, but not limited to, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and walking (up to 80% of day).
Other Skills:
- Ability to maneuver through storage racks, trailers, and other areas of the warehouse.
- Engineering economics and decision analysis
