Lead Development Manager

Position Summary:
SUMMARY
JLL is looking for a development leader with strong technical depth and ability to define standard practices, required documentation, and technical components of SDLC process; lead data strategy development ensuring alignment between data architecture and business goals; provide direction on data structures and architecture to development teams, guide solution development and achieve consistency of information assets across the application portfolio; analyze current data architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements; and, manage personnel to ensure development staff have the appropriate technical skills and ability to meet the requirements defined by product teams.
ESESNTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Helps formulate group’s technology vision and set/enforce technical standards for the team.
- Work with product technical leads to design new products or enhancements. Take part in initial system development analysis to get new development efforts started in the right direction. Provide ongoing guidance for the technical work as needed.
- Provide technical evaluation of third party solutions as needed. Work with Americas Architect to ensure new third party solutions align with overarching JLL technology strategy.
- Perform design and code reviews with senior technical staff.
- Define and continuously improve development processes and documentation based on best practices and lessons learned.
- Key contributor to resource planning process, manage resource rotation and slack time between teams to ensure development resources are properly utilized.
- Mentor junior members of the team and provide education on new technologies or processes as needed.
- Ensure sufficient cross training among teams and team members.
- Work closely with the vendor management function to ensure staffing quality and gather performance feedback on developers.
- Works closely with the following teams: Architecture, PMO, Infrastructure, Security/Identity, Compliance/Audit, App Operations Manager, DR management/risk teams, Integrations
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration
- Minimum of 10 years of work experience in IT industry or department
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in leading IT projects
- Candidate should be versed in diverse technologies.
- Experience in managing simultaneous complex projects from inception to successful completion
- Experience in real estate Industry a plus
- Has strong experience with SQL server and all related technologies, .NET development (web and back-end, web services, etc.), enterprise application integration, n-tier architecture, networking and hardware fundamentals, and exposure to other platforms.
- Advanced or expert level knowledge and understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and information workflow design

- Strong foundation in variety of development methodologies

- Business analysis and requirements gathering
- Good estimation and project management skills including Agile development knowledge.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
