Position Summary:

OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an Intern to join our Capital Markets Research team for Spring Semester (January 2017-May 2017) in our Chicago office (AON Center) working approximately 20 hours per week. We will consider undergraduate students who will be graduating May 2017, December 2017, or May 2018.
 
The Intern, Capital Markets Research position will work with our capital markets research team on data management, market analytics and reporting as part of the Americas research department. The goal is to create and maintain best in class research that differentiates JLL and drives a competitive advantage in the marketplace through market expertise, analysis and insight. This position will work closely with a growing team of market research experts throughout JLL offices in the US.
 
This is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking to develop an advanced platform of real estate investments and market fundamentals as a member of the commercial real estate industry’s leading service platform. Given the part-time nature of the position, the candidate will principally focus on strategic data and project initiatives for the national research platform across real estate sectors (office, multifamily, industrial, retail and corporate finance).
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Track and analyze supply and demand fundamentals, sales and financing activity, and investor and lender characteristics
  • Derive and analyze economic, demographic, financial, and regulatory trends that could impact performance or investment
  • Articulate in a compelling way market trends and insights internally and externally
  • Proactively leverage local market personnel to enhance knowledge and gather critical information
  • Collaborate with capital markets research specialty team to provide on-going support across property types and regions
  • Contribute to the preparation of client presentations and requests
 
EDUCATION
  • Seeking a current undergraduate student in their Junior or Senior year of college.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Analytical with problem-solving skills and strategic-thinking capacity.
  • Passion and desire to learn about the commercial real estate sector.
  • Organized with the ability and desire to multitask and effectively manage numerous projects and deadlines at the same time.

  • Creative and dynamic with excellent written and presentation skills with the ability to tailor reports and recommendations to both the private sector and the public sector.
  • A command of requisite technology including Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other database systems, as well as comfort with various database platforms and GIS applications
