Lead Advisor, Data Governance - Virtual

Position Summary:

We are seeking a qualified candidate for a Lead Advisor for Data Governance and Management   that will be responsible for two strategic programs; our Data Quality Program, and data support for our Business Intelligence platform. This position will provide on-going leadership and the coordination with the regions and the business/ service lines to deliver data quality solutions to various audiences.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and evangelize the Data Quality Program roadmap, feature details and technical and process dependencies. Track the improvement and adoption.

  • Define a practical data quality framework to manage the metrics definitions, data quality rules, data sourcing strategy, and the delivery of data quality score cards and business impact dashboards. Work with the business partners and client account teams to define, document and implement the process model(s).

  • Maintain the data quality rules in a rule catalog. Maintain the adoption/ deployment pipeline.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and maintain a cost model, a service catalog (menu), regional client pricing models, and supporting presentations and references.

  • Partner with the developers and the regions to establish and implement data quality remediation plans in various verticals and on the account teams. Define the organizational structures, processes and operating procedures, tools, and communication protocols for the Data Quality Program.

  • Act as a leader and mentor to provide coaching, training, and awareness. The audience will be the client account teams, the service lines, CS executives and the data governance team(s).

  • Project and propose future staffing needs for the operations and growth of Data Quality Program.

  • Effectively consolidate duplicate efforts and redundant Data Quality management functions in CS. Propose practical options and roadmap for senior management.

  • Collaborate with regional data governance leads to promote the adoptions of Data Quality Program.

  • Assist in the development of Data Governance and Management strategy, including data quality management, data acquisition, reporting analytics, data and system support, and business intelligence. Develop expert knowledge of business and solution domains in the above areas of focus.

  • Provide technical support and resolve helpdesk requests for Data Quality Program.

  • Assist the client account teams with troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks when data defects are reported by the BI and Analytics stakeholders. Coordinate with IT, regional teams, business and service lines and the BI team to resolve data issues, and prevent them from happening in the future.

  • Develop deep knowledge about the RED BI and Analytics capabilities, focusing on the sourcing, transformation and aggregation of data. Document and share lessons learned.

  • Must coordinate with other stakeholders such as senior leadership, CS data stewardship program, Regional Data Governance and global/ regional IT organizations to adopt and leverage common best practices and standard frameworks, tools and processes. 

 
Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of data management related experience in an enterprise environment across multiple application systems and business functions.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Management, MIS, Library Science, Computer Science or related fields; advanced degree preferred.

  • 5 + years related experience in commercial real estate management (preferred) or related industry

  • Software development life cycle knowledge, with particular background in agile philosophies and methodologies

  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently

  • Experience working in a global environment and remote setting.

  • Superior analytical and creative problem solving skills.  Demonstrated successes in data analysis, drawing conclusions and improvement. Apply listening and consultative skills to understand business needs; be able to interpret requirements, identify impacts and analyze problems to determine impacts to business processes across the organization.

  • Ability to understand and produce user based documentation on complex data management systems. Articulate the issues and resolutions via business friendly communications. Serve as primary day-to-day contact for property data management issues.

  • Superior project management/ consulting and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to facilitate complex, mission critical projects and to develop, participate in and guide multi-disciplinary work teams. Manage task timelines and deliverable schedules and share concerns about deliverables, timelines, and issues with Data Governance and PMO’s

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.  Strong negotiation and group facilitation skills; ability to move a process forward, while meeting the needs of a variety of internal customers.

  • Advanced understanding of Data Quality Management. Knowledge of data governance and how it impacts business processes.

  • Knowledge of data lifecycle and maintenance processes.

  • Ability to work well under deadlines, ability to work in a multi-tasking production environment to make good judgments about competing priorities.

  • Experience with data management tools including MS Excel, SQL query, Informatica and Data Analyst

  • Expert level skills in MS Visio, Word and PowerPoint required

  • Hands-on experience with data access against SQL Server is preferred.

  • Software development life cycle knowledge, with particular background in agile philosophies and methodologies
