Position Summary:
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Bi-Lingual Senior Accountant performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports; maintains the accuracy of the ledgers and financial systems; assists in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year end closing; and provides guidance to assigned clients and/or groups.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly property financial statements for a property portfolio located in LATAM;
- Gain a complete understanding of the internal accounting requirements as well as work to ensure requirements are met as established by the client;
- Function as a resource to site property teams as required coordinating procedures, responding to accounting questions, and responding to client questions;
- Oversee internal and external audits and coordinate with various departments on requirements;
- Responsible for bank reconciliations, cash management for loan servicing, disbursement processing, and external reporting;
- Annual year-end reconciliation process – assist in the preparation, calculation and review of the year-end reconciliation process. Ensure all adjustments are billed timely and correctly per contract requirements
- Effective in reconciling, consolidating, and evaluating integrity of data to help meet financial and operational reporting requirements
- Special projects and other functions as required by manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- BS in Accounting or Finance required
- MBA a plus
- 3 – 5 years of accounting experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Bilingual Spanish – English required
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel and Access required)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organization and coordination skills required
