Position Summary:

OBJECTIVE         
One of the world’s largest real estate and property firms are looking to modernize and update current ways of executing HR and Finance across the globe. The goal is to the get more data, insights and effectiveness out of HR and Finance across all 80 markets and 72,000+ employees.
 
Working with the Region HR Tech & Data Lead, this individual will interact with an international virtual team of JLL business and technical resources, and technology vendor(s).
 
SCOPE  
The scope of the program will be through a system enabled transformation - improve HR processes, create an effective HR organization and provide the business with real data and insights. The broad scope covers HR systems, HR Processes, Target Operating Models (including Shared Services) and Change Management to embed the new ways of working.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Manages all data-related program activities according to the project plan
  • Manages data mapping, data auditing and reconciliation activities, data conversion. 
  • Provides key input into Data Management, Data Governance, Service Delivery, & Data Architecture work streams. 
  • Maintains Finance alignment (Common Language).
  • Works closely with the HR Integrations, Reporting & Analytics and Technology Functional Leads as needed, providing input into and support for the associated integrations, reporting and analytics, and configuration work streams.
  • Develops and implement the data conversion strategy for the implementation of JLL’s HCM system (Workday), coordinating team members to ensure timely delivery of data conversion outcomes.
  • Determines the best practice approach for data transformation and migration to the new HCM.
  • Manages the team and work effort for local data conversion mapping, clean-up and validation.
  • Works with project and end-user Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), developers, and QA to identify, create, and script test scenarios for data conversion activities.
  • Develops, documents, and communicates the data governance function for HR to ensure end-to-end data quality, accuracy, consistency and security across platforms.
  • Ensures that all environments are prepped with data for testing and training.
  • Works with the Technical Functional Lead, Integrations Lead, technical teams and Global Data & Information Management.
  • Defines /maps the flow of data between applications.
  • Drafts a data object model that provides a common structure for mapping the data between the applications.
  • Manages incoming and outgoing work stream dependencies with other work stream leads and IT- and if necessary escalate issues and conflicts to the HR Technology, Data & Analytics Lead.
  • Identifies risks/issues early and create mitigation strategies
  • Provides weekly progress/status reporting to the HR Technology, Data & Analytics Lead.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Advanced knowledge of data extraction, mapping and conversion of a complex nature
  • Advanced Understanding of the data mapping and conversion tools
  • Advanced understanding of other data conversion tools and technologies
  • Advanced knowledge of testing methodologies and end user support structures
  • Elementary knowledge of data warehouse development
  • Advanced understanding of data auditing and validation tools and technologies
  • Ability to define and communicate the “big picture” in terms of the overall data architecture (both functional and technical components) and break it down into smaller manageable work units
  • Intermediate data modelling skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of HR business processes
  • Elementary understanding of HR Transformation
  • Intermediate Project Management experience - proven ability to plan, manage multiple tasks/activities and prioritize appropriately
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Data conversion and mapping experience
  • Data governance, metadata management, master data experience
  • Data analysis and visualization skills a plus
  • Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence experience a plus
  • HCM regulatory/management reporting (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Process analysis, documentation and re-engineering skills
  • Ability to think strategically at an enterprise level
  • Ability to prioritize, coordinate and manage multiple parallel stream of work
  • Ability to influence and build consensus with executive/senior-level colleagues
  • Superior collaboration and interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels of management and staff.
  • Project planning and delivery experience
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor degree from an accredited institution
  • 3 – 5 years of experience working in complex system data conversion projects       
  • Personally completed the role within at least one complex HR project and ideally been involved with a further 2-3 projects
  • Personally completed the role as Data Lead (or equivalent) on 1+ Global HR Transformation programme
  • Experience in defining data conversion strategy and approach
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale Human Resources systems.
  • Knowledge of data conversion efforts on payroll and HR systems; including understanding of database structures and models.
  • Direct experience with relational databases and SQL query/reporting tools in a data analysis and ad-hoc query capacity.
  • Direct experience with object oriented database structure
 
HOURS AND TRAVEL
  • While the primary location can be flexible, the role holder will be required to travel throughout JLL’s market geographies with a regular requirement to work in Chicago, USA as a ‘primary’ office location
  • The role holder should expect to work non-standard hours on a regular basis as the position demands, including weekends as necessary
