Position Summary:

OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking an Associate, Accounting to join our Corporate Solutions team in Westmont, IL.  Our Corporate Solutions group creates transformative outsourcing partnerships that help our clients improve the cost, efficiency, and performance of their real estate portfolio. Under direction, the Accounting Associate performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling financial transactions, records, and reports; maintains the accuracy of the ledgers and financial systems; preparation of client funding requests; assists in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year end closing; and provides assistance to account team and client.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, from balance sheet and cash account reconciliations to financial statement preparation.
  • Prepare monthly financial package and submit timely to the Finance & Accounting Manager, for review and approval in order to finalize reporting within the proper time frame for review.
  • Process client funding requests and submit check runs upon receipt of client funding.
  • Insure that all bank statements are reconciled on a timely basis and follow-up on old outstanding checks and reconciling items monthly. Reconcile components of ending cash balances monthly.
  • Perform reconciliation and true-up of funding vs. actual expenditures.
  • Perform and/or review all balance sheet account reconciliations and work papers for audits.
  • Prepare and properly document journal entries.
  • Prepare accrual entries and track accruals.
  • Assist with the calculation and billing of fees and reimbursable expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with both Jones Lang LaSalle Internal Audit and Client Accounting Services internal review standards.
  • Assist Facility/Project Managers to process monthly financial duties (i.e. - invoice coding and variance analysis).
  • Assist with Budgets and Forecasts as needed.
  • Special projects and other functions as required by manager or client.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, required.
  • Minimum of 1 – 2 years accounting experience, required.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong accounting skills and attention to detail is required.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.  Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus.
  • Proficiency in computer-based accounting applications required. Experience with JDEdwards EnterpriseOne platform is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills required.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written) required.
  • Demonstrates consistency in values, principles and work ethic.
