Responsibilities:

 
Coach Safety, Quality and Productivity to ensure objectives are met through following standardized work processes: 
 

  • Safety
    • Enforce compliance with Safety Operating System practices to include, but not limited to: Combustion Safety; Energy Lockout; Pedestrian and Vehicle Safety; Working at Heights; Pre-Task Analysis (PTA); and licensing and safety training requirements
    • Perform safety inspections using corporate tools (OHSIM, MSS, SPRB) and conduct safety talks
    • Identify and insure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are promptly corrected
    • Complete 100% of mandated FAS08 PMs at the prescribed frequency
  • Quality
    • Communication and Recognition
    • Drive Continuous Improvement through a focused maintenance program designed to reduce scrap and ensure reliability of error-proofing devices
    • Maintain automation in a state of compliance with specifications, fit, form, and contamination standards
  • Delivery (Productivity)
    • Lead skilled trades/maintenance personnel to evaluate controls requirements for maintaining and improving production yields, throughput, and up time
    • Responsible for monitoring day-to-day production processes, tooling, and operations related to automation equipment
    • Analyze equipment performance and work to improve efficiencies; actively participate in Constraint Review Process
    • Ensure equipment start-up readiness for production
    • Use andon data (FIS, POSMON, PAARS, Maximo, etc.) to prioritize efforts and achieve 100% flow
  • Cost
    • Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives: meet or beat schedule
    • Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, supply, and tooling expense targets
    • Minimize overtime by improving JPH, controlling absenteeism, using predictive maintenance programs; preparing for and fully utilizing down time; optimizing use of skilled labor throughout the day
    • Supervise material control (spare part inventory), repair and rebuild programs, and reliability and maintainability reviews
  • People
    • Build Team Leaders’ and Team Members’ capabilities
    • Create a conducive work environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities/tasks; build and foster a team environment between production and maintenance
    • Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
    • Maintain a versatility matrix that ensures technical coverage at all times
    • Assist and teach maintenance troubleshooting techniques to improve mean time between failure and mean time to repair
    • Participate in Time & Data Management meetings as prescribed by Ford Production System (FPS)
  • Maintenance
    • Supervise preventive maintenance schedules, preventive and predictive inspections, and repairs to minimize down time
    • Coordinate and schedule manpower and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time; coordinate maintenance activities with other plant operations
    • Conduct root cause analysis of downtime issues to prevent recurrence (4D process)
    • Work with ME/PE to launch new programs or equipment, optimize floor layouts, coordinate equipment refurbishment, and develop standardized PM programs from FMEAs
    • Execute prioritized daily maintenance activities (predictive, preventive and crisis maintenance) obtaining full utilization of work force while optimizing available opportunities for all maintenance
    • Provide input to MPS for weekend and shutdown maintenance planning
    • Use Maximo for Maintenance (MFM) to document all maintenance activities (crisis and planned); provide quality assurance of MFM inputs to enable in-depth data analysis
  • Environment
    • Fully integrate Leak Tag and Jumper Tag process into daily operations                                                                  
    • Control and monitor oil, water, and energy usage
    • Manage and maintain support systems (plant powertrains (air, electrical, water, etc.), exhausts, heat exchangers, hydraulics, etc.)
    • Maintain housekeeping in all maintenance areas and cabinets
    • Complete 100% of mandated EOS PMs at the prescribed frequency
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends

Minimum Requirements:
 
  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years technical work experience and troubleshooting in a Manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years Microsoft Office experience
Preferred Requirements:
  • Fundamental working knowledge of PLC logic and controls
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills
  • Successful candidate should be able to demonstrate leadership in One FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of automotive experience
  • Body shop/stamping/paint/subassembly experience
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Knowledge of constraint management principles
  • Safety and Quality experience
  • Prior experience managing a unionized work force
  • CNC machining experience (PTO specific)
  • Helium leak stand experience (PTO specific)
